Description[]
The Anniversary Event was a global event that began on Thursday 27th June 2013, to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the first Settlers game.
Objectives[]
The aim of the event for all players was to donate Balloons. These were collected by completing quests, by Explorer searches and by converting other resources to Balloons in the Provision House.
When donated the Balloons were added to the total of the server in the first phase or group of servers in the second phase. The first server to reach a milestone(100%, 150% and 200%) would gain an additional reward on top of the milestone reward.
Phases[]
For the first time in The Settlers Online an event was split into different phases. One of the suspected reasons for this is that there has been a lot of complaints on many different worlds, regarding previous events in which different worlds compete with each other. This is because some servers are older then the others. As the game originates from Germany these servers are one of the oldest in the game. This makes it hard for younger servers to compete against the older server and win the event.
Phase One[]
The first phase was a 4-day ranking phase and ended on the 1st of July 2013. During this phase of the event everyone had to gather Balloons. The amount each server gathered would ultimately decide which servers would be working together during the second phase of the event.
Phase Two[]
Phase 2 began on the 2nd of July 2013 and ended on 23rd of July 2013. During this phase all the servers once again had to gather Balloons. The first server to reach the milestones of 100%, 150% and 200% would get an additional reward on top of the reward for reaching the milestone(s). However there were other ways to get additional rewards, one of these was for player participation. Thus the server that had the most active players participating in the event would also be rewarded.
