Frequently Asked Questions[]
Q: Do I need to defeat all the camps before defeating the leader?[]
It is not required that you defeat all the camps first; if you wanted to, you could just go directly to the leader and defeat them immediately. However, not defeating these camps means that you will likely get intercepted before you make it to the leader.
Q: Do I get XP for undefeated camps after defeating the sector leader?[]
A: Once the leader is killed you also get all the XP from the remaining camps that disappear. However, you do not earn the loot that you would otherwise get from defeating those camps.
Q: Can I retreat my general?[]
A: If your general is still traveling on the map then yes. Click on the general's garrison and then click the retreat button in the window that opens. However, if your general is in combat, then you cannot retreat them.
Q: My General is traveling but I can't retreat them[]
This may be an issue of the garrison window not updating. If the general left the garrison while the window was still open, then close the window and reopen it, and the retreat button should be usable again.
Q: How do I move my general to a different location?[]
A: Click on the garrison of your general and click on Transfer. Then move the garrison to any point on the map that is highlighted on green. While transferring garrison, your general cannot be intercepted, even if they pass through an enemy camp's red influence zone.
Q: What are those red squared around all the camps?[]
A: This is the influence zone of a camp. If your attacking army passes through one of these zones, then your general will be intercepted and will have to fight that camp before continuing. A useful combat technique to counter this is known as blocking. It should be noted that if your general passes through a camp's influence zone while transferring (see previous question), they will not be intercepted. The leader camps do not have an influence zone.
Q: Can I use other setups than the ones you posted?[]
A: Of course, these guides aren't forcing you to do anything. If you want to use your own setup, a good rule of thumb is to ensure that you only sustain Recruit casualties, unless if you are fighting a Leader (although if you can limit your casualties to recruits that's awesome).
Q: I am closing in on the last zone. Is this the end?[]
A: Not... exactly. This is the end for conquering all the zones on your island, but not for combat as a whole. Once you reach level 26, you get the ability to do adventures. BB_Azariel has written a beginners guide and SidV has written walkthroughs for each adventure.
Q: Why do guides mostly use just recruits?[]
A: They are cheap and train quickly, meaning they are the most dispensable. The idea is to minimize casualties, and that any casualties that do are easily replaceable.
Q: Do defeated enemies respawn?[]
A: Enemy units do not respawn once killed. However, bosses do recover their health if they have HP remaining your general is defeated in combat.
Q: How do I get settlers faster than waiting 25 minutes for them to generate?[]
Certain buffs can be used to accelerate population growth. Additionally, the Provision House can obtain more settlers by spending bread to produce either the Wayfaring Settler (+1 settler), Traveller Family (+5 settlers), or Retired Bandits (+25 settlers).
Combat Resources[]
This is a good combat simulator.
Sparkz has written an excellent guide about this which you can find here: Combat System By Sparkz
The EU Settlers Online Wiki has a great resource for conquering your island: https://settlersonlinewiki.eu/en/island/conquer-island/

Island Sector Guide[]

Sectors 1 and 4 are given without you being required to defeat any bandit camps.
Sector 2[]
Sector 2 is the easiest zone and likely the first zone you will discover. There is only 1 bandit camp besides the leader.
Attack Guide[]
Camp | Enemy Units | Attacking Units |
---|---|---|
1 | 6 Scavenger | 10 Recruits (Losses: 3 Recruits) |
2 (Leader) | 12 Scavenger | 25 Recruits (Losses: 6 Recruits) |
Sector 5[]
[NOTE: I'm still in the process of editing this hot mess of a page, and this is the furthest I've gotten. I'll finish plagiarizing the EU wiki later, but just be warned that from here onward the quality of this page dips severely. --Enilks]
This next sector is in the middle of the Home Island zone and is already a much larger than your first zone. On the picture below you can see where to place your barracks and what camps to attack.

Garrison: Fastest Route
- Easy Camp (10 Scavenger) [17R (5R)] with the new routing you will be intercepted by camp A
- Easy Camp (15 Scavenger) [31R (7R)]
- Easy Camp (18 Scavenger) [34R (9R)]
- Easy Camp (25 Scavenger) [25R & 20B (12R)]
- Easy Camp (15 Scavenger + 20 Stone Thrower) [26R & 26B (25R)]
Note: Now comes the tricky part seeing we skipped a camp. if we attack camp 6 directly we will get intercepted. So attack the bandit leader so you will get intercepted by camp 6. Right after Camp 6 is cleared open up your garrison and click retreat. else your general will go onto the Leader. - Easy Camp (20 Scavenger + 20 Stone Thrower) [32R & 26B (27R)]
- Bandit Leader (30 Scavenger + 20 Stone Thrower) [45R & 32B (33R)]
Garrison: Skipped Camps
Easy Camp (6 Scavenger ) [?R (?R)]
Easy Camp (? Scavenger ) [?R (?R)]
Easy Camp (? Scavenger ) [?R (?R)]
Camp Loot Possibilities:
