Stone is one of the vital resources. It is gathered by the Mason from a Stone Deposit. Its primarly uses are for building purposes and for the Lonely Marble Block buff which converts 250 into 50 . Apart from this all its being traded quite a lot, as it is gathered quite easily and can just as easily be traded against more valuable items using the Trade Office.
